  • There is a system that carves sculptures digitally, but there is a difference in the sense of operation compared to reality, making the work process less enjoyable.
  • In this study, as a first step in introducing a sense of pseudo operation into virtual reality, carving on a plane is realized with MR.
  • The CG of the carving traces is calculated based on the carving angle, shape, strength, etc.
  • Occlusion is determined using the color of the hand’s skin.
  • Compared to the tablet carving simulation system:
    • Movements such as holding and moving the object, like in real sculpture, could be observed.
    • Vibration feedback is provided when carving to create a sense of actually carving.
    • It was identified that there is a lack of pseudo operation sense and expression of the carved appearance.
